Andrew asked me for some assistance making a castable test print for a customer, who provided their own STL file along with a supplementary support structure (which I found to be very useful!).

Here is the print at 50 micron Z with 40 micron XY using a 1:1 ratio of B9 resins:

@kbvpro, I am not going to cast this piece since it was for a customer of 3DFacture.

I did print a signet ring I am going to cast in Stuller Sterlium sterling silver, but probably won't get around to it until next weekend since it takes so long to run through the cycle. I haven't built up my sprue tree yet and I don't want to invest too early before firing it.

What brand is your investment? Do you use plasticast? What is your burn out time and temp?

I use R&R PlastiCast investment. I've only been using 2-1/2" flasks since I do small quantity casting.

The burnout schedule is the same schedule I used for Satin Cast, same ramp times, etc.

What investment and schedule did you use @teopele?

Did you print that yourself as well? If so, what resin?

I made it using 3ds max. The resin in the picure is the one you sent me. I haven't managed to print anything yet. emoticon frown :(

What happened to the print? It looks like it got all chewed up and dirty/dusty. I hope that didn't happen during the shipment to you. :(
